Who We Are

Paula McGinness established her practice, Advanced Bodywork and Massage, and created her program, Pain-Free ASAP, drawing on over 20 years experience and education in the health and fitness fields. This program is plan of action that helps her clients understand how to get pain free and stay healthy long term.

Paula has spent years working with real people from the age of 13 to 93, including some celebrities and athletes, as well as lots of regular folks. She has worked with professional athletes from various sports like: Willie McGinest (NFL), Junior Bryant (NFL), Ryan Nece (NFL), Dorian Yates (Mr. Olympia), Silvio Samuels (Mr. Olympia), Lolo Jones (US Track and Field), Chris Simon (AHL), AC Green (AHL), Rob Blake (AHL), Jennifer Capriati (Tennis), Chone Figgins (MLB), Gabe Kapler (MLB), Fernando Vargas, (Pro Boxer) Jason Kapono (NBA). She has also worked on celebrities from the likes of Robert Duval, Michael Caine, Ray Liotta, to Brooke Burke and Bruce Buffer, the “Voice of the Octagon”.

Paula’s journey into the health industry began at Essential Health (Chiropractic and Nutritional Office). She continued at Clinicare, Pro Camp Sports, and with the UCLA Women’s Softball team (as they rose to win the world series) . Paula is certified in shiatsu (The Tao Healing Arts Center), Swedish massage therapy (The Institute of Psychostructural Balancing), and Neurostructural Bodywork (The Kali Institute for Massage and Somatic Therapies). At The Kali institute she became an expert in an advanced technique derived from Rolfing and Hellerwork, where the goal is postural alignment and relief of chronic pain.

Her varied work and educational experiences has had her interfacing with medical doctors, chiropractors, nutrionists, and physical therapists, as she collaborated throughout all of the phases of each patient’s care. She continues to feed her appetite for learning by consulting with various personal trainers, chiropractors, nutritionists, acupuncturists, naturopaths, shamans, massage therapists, colon hydro therapists, palm readers, and  astrologists.  You name it!  She believes that everyone has something to teach, and she is willing to learn.

Paula presently lives in Los Angeles California. Through her 13 years of private practice and her program, Pain-Free ASAP, she continues to pursue her passion – helping people become more connected to their bodies so that they can take control of their health and to redefine aging as we know it.
