One of the greatest rewards of proper exercise and bodywork is what I call the “A-ha! Moment”. The “A-ha! Moment” is when you’re going about your business, making some random movement, and then, BAM!, it happens. The movement suddenly feels EASY. It feels GOOD. And guess what? THAT’S how it’s supposed to feel!! It’s like finding your neurostructural “sweet spot”. You have gotten connected to your body and it’s working differently. Like it’s supposed to.
The more you experience it, the more you will want to experience it. I’ve been at it for 15 years and I still have my own “A-ha! Moments”, and I still get excited. For me and for most of my clients it happens as a result of a combination of building up strength by exercising, and loosening cemented muscles and/or joints by stretching, rolling, or getting bodywork. The more we engage in the process, the more and the quicker we get the “A-ha!”s.
Some of these experiences my clients have shared with me include: noticing being able to sit up straight more easily, improved performance when playing a sport, increased strength to pick up a grand-kid, improved sleep at night…and the list goes on and on.
It IS possible to change your body. It can be HARD work, but it can also be LIFE-ALTERING. It has been for me and many of my clients that I’ve been lucky enough to work with. There are NO SUBSTITUTES for the benefits of proper exercise and bodywork, and feeling those “A-ha!” Moments. Do you get it?
So THAT’S How that’s Supposed to Feel!!!
